Preservation of a Legacy
06/01/2010
Our house is made of the finest wood. It basically already an antique because my grandparents were the one who really built this when they got married. It is now me, who is occupying the estate, since nobody in the family wants to sell it. The house has seen too many important occasions in the lives of the past three generations of our family and so the house means a lot to us.
However, since the house is made of wood, and is just painted white once in a while to maintain the physical condition of the woods, the level of heat the sun gives us nowadays is very high that the paint and the woods themselves are wearing and tearing at a very fast rate. Constant repainting could actually do the job, however, it costs a lot of money and it is very impractical to spend that much for it. That is why I decided to just install fixed canopies around the house. Also, I placed retractable canopies in almost all my windows, in order to regulate the heat that comes inside the house, as it could also cause deterioration from the inside.
With these, I hope that I will be able to preserve this very important heirloom I am much honored to be given.
