Whenever I visit my cousin’s house in St.Petersburg, we always find it bothersome to look for their house because there were huge trees covering the entrance part. Our house is made of the finest wood. It basically already an antique because my grandparents were the one who really built this when they got married. My Stair railing is made out of a mixture of wood and glass. When my interior designer suggested it to me, I liked it right away. It was very unique as I haven’t seen a railing like it before, and also, it matches with the overall look of my house. However, since wood is a very solid material, it is hard to change furniture or wall color that would still match with the color and texture of wood. This bothered me because I have planned to renovate several times before, but can’t because of the wood element in my staircase. That is why I decided to change it.

From wood, I have decided to change it to iron. Iron is a very universal material. It matches almost all colors and textures. However, the rising cost of things and utilities has had me looking for alternatives and ways in saving.  The thing that made me switch to use cfl bulbs was when I was able to compare my electricity bill to friend who lives just next door to me. Her electricity bill was significantly lower than mine when we had the same size of house and more or less use the same appliances.  She pointed out that my lights would be the culprit for this because she shared that since she made the switch to cfl, her electric usage has gone down. Since then, I noticed that consumption and electric bills went down.  I could not have been any happier.

As a Real-Estate broker, I never get to see my client’s identity much less their houses. But one time, one of my clients invited me to her new house in Beverly Hills, Ca. The house consisted of a two-storey modern Zen-like architectural design and a Japanese garden that evokes relaxing effect to anyone who sees it. If I can own a house someday-I wanted it to look exactly like her house. The living room has a wide array spaces filled with Japanese cushions and bamboo flooring. The house was cool due to its large windows with the proper lightings and smells like Pine Trees.

 In one corner-looks to me like a closet organizer filled with archeological items, Treasures and pictures from her trips. One would say that the lady here-is certainly an avid traveler.

Next we went to her kitchen for some refreshments-and showed to me her new kitchen pantry organizer located in the hallway. One would not dare to recognize it since it looks like a wall. Opening the entry, a wine cellar bar came to a view with sections and partitions of different packaged foods and some grocery items. We chatted for a while and I get to taste one of her Chilean wines.

 After a long day, we finally bid each other’s goodbye. It was a fun-filled experience having to get to know the Lady and her beautifully crafted house.
